Chai Espresso Martini: November Cocktail of the Month

A fall twist on the classic espresso martini.

I am so excited to introduce a new series here on the Ashley Childers Home blog to you all called ‘Cocktail of the Month’! We will be crafting and sharing a new cocktail each month, so make sure your liquor cabinet is full and the cocktail shaker is ready to go. This month’s cocktail is inspired by Half Baked Harvest’s recipe (with a few personal modifications), and wow, is it good! When it came to alcohol, we decided to use our local favorite Rocktown vodka, which is distilled in our hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas.

This Chai Espresso Martini truly tastes like fall in a glass and will be the perfect nightcap for your Thanksgiving festivities.

Ingredients

Chai Syrup:

• 5 bags of Chai Tea

• 1/2 cup honey

• 1/2 cup water

Martini:

• 2 ounces vodka

• 1 1/2 ounces Kahlúa Vanilla Liqueur

• 1 ounce espresso (equivalent to 1 Nespresso pod)

• 1 ounce unsweetened coconut milk canned

Recipe

• Bring a pot of 1/2 cup of water to a boil, then remove from heat and add the 5 bags of tea, cover and steep for 10 minutes

• Remove tea bags, add honey and bring the mixture to a boil for 3 minutes. Be sure to stir continuously to prevent the syrup from burning. Let the syrup cool.

• Once cooled, combine 1 tablespoon of Chai syrup, ice (a generous amount), and all other liquid ingredients into the cocktail shaker. Shake well for a minimum of 1 minute to ensure a foamy top to your cocktail. Strain into your desired glass and garnish your Chai Espresso Martini with three coffee beans for health, wealth, and happiness!
